Licenses & Permits

Starting a business in Clallam County requires filing a Washington State Master Business Application.

To speed up the process of starting your business, the Washington State Master Business Application can be completed online. (see link below in Quick Links). Clallam County does not require business licensing, however, you should contact the County to determine if you need any other permits or licenses for your business.

If you will be doing business in the City of Sequim, you will also need to apply for a license from the city. If you are doing business in the City of Port Angeles, you may need to apply for a license or permit, depending on the type of business. Please contact the city for more information. Although, Forks does not issue business licenses, please contact the city to determine if you require other licenses or permits.

Clallam County: If you are building in any of the unincorporated areas in Clallam County, you will need to contact the Clallam County Department of Community Development.

Port Angeles, Forks, Sequim: If you are building within the city limits, please contact the city planning department for permits required.
